Google admits changing phone settings

Technology firm, Google has apologized after Android phone users saw that the battery saver setting was remotely enacted a week ago without their consent.

“This was an internal experiment to test battery saving features that was mistakenly rolled out to more users than intended.” Google apologized in its response to Redditors, saying “Sorry for the confusion.”

While the rollout of Google’s exploratory component on Android is an apparently safe mischance, it raised inquiries among cell phone proprietors in the Reddit string about the sort of control that Google has on telephones running Android.

The thought that Google could remotely change settings on their cell phones was not generally welcomed, particularly in occurrences when the telephone’s proprietor wasn’t advised of the change first.

Others were apparently understanding, or they had at any rate come to peace with the way that Google could change a cell phone’s settings without notice.
